OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees; in that, employees were exposed to struck by hazards while performing surveying tasks within the active roadway.      On or about March 30, 2015, employees performing surveys of sewer manholes and storm drains within an active public roadway were exposed to being struck by vehicular traffic.      Among other methods, feasible and acceptable methods of abatement would be to follow Chapter 6, Temporary Traffic control, outlined in the Manual on Uniformed Traffic Control Devices 2009 Edition, consisting of but not limited to, an appropriate traffic control plan and appropriate traffic control devices and to provide certified training to employees in regards to the traffic control plan and the appropriate devices.
