29 CFR 1910.1450(e)(1): Where hazardous chemicals were used in the workplace, the employer did not develop and carry out the provisions of a written Chemical Hygiene Plan which was capable of protecting employees from health hazards associated with hazardous chemicals:  a.) LORD Corporation, 2455 Robison Road, Erie, PA 16509: On or about April 10, 2015, and at times prior thereto, employees in the Analytical Lab worked with and around hazardous substances including, but not limited to, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, isopropyl alcohol, acetone, and methanol.  The employer had not developed and implemented a Chemical Hygiene Plan for the Analytical Lab.

29 CFR 1910.132(d)(2): The employer did not verify that the required workplace hazard assessment has been performed through a written certification which included the requirements as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.132(d)(2):  a.) LORD Corporation, 2455 Robison Road, Erie, PA 16509: On or about April 10, 2015, and at times prior thereto, employees in the Analytical Lab were potentially exposed to hazards to the eyes, face, and skin while working with hazardous substances including but not limited to nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, isopropyl alcohol, acetone, and methanol.  A written certification of the hazard assessment for the Analytical Lab was not completed.

LORD Corporation, 2455 Robison Road, Erie, PA 16509: On or about April 10, 2015, and at times prior thereto, Analytical Lab employees worked with and around hazardous substances including but not limited to, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, isopropyl alcohol, acetone, and methanol.  Employees were unaware of the location and availability of material safety data sheets for the hazardous substances utilized in the lab.
