29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1): Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent):    a) Yard - There was no standard railing or other means of fall protection used along the front edge of the pit beneath the sand and aggregate hoppers which was approximately 66 inches deep. Employees stood at the edge of the pit when manually operating the gates at the bottom of the hoppers. On or about 4/23/15.    b) Batch plant - There was no standard railing or other means of fall protection used on a platform that was accessed by employees in order to manually operate the gate at the bottom of the weigh hopper. The platform was approximately 16 feet above the ground. On or about 4/23/15.     NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM.
