29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system; or, on roofs 50 feet (15.25 m) or less in width, the use of a safety monitoring system alone: a. An employee was exposed to a fall hazard approximately 9 feet while using a seam welder and a suitable fall protection system was not used. b. An employee was exposed to a fall hazard approximately 9 feet while installing roofing material and a suitable fall protection system was not used. c. Employees were exposed to a fall hazard approximately 17 feet when accessing the roof and a suitable guardrail system or offset was not used to protect the access opening. Advanced Commercial Roofing Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(10), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 978941, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 24, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 101 N. Carico Street, Tuscola Illinois, 61953.
