29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface having an unprotected side or edge which was six feet (1.8m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of a guardrail system, a safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. (a) Colorado Mechanical Systems, Inc., at 113 9th St., Glenwood Springs, CO 81601: On October 28th, 2014, the employer did not ensure each employee on a walking/working surface having an unprotected side or edge which was six feet (1.8m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling by the use of a guardrail system, a safety net system, or personal fall arrest system in that two employees were engaged in HVAC units removal and installation on flat roof of a 2-story building without fall protection means. This condition exposed the employees to a fall hazard of approximately 15 feet.
