29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Auto Line #1, Production, 1162 Keystone Boulevard, Pottsville, PA - Employees coated wooden doors with the Union Tool Corporation Hot-Melt Roller Coater Model Series #15-A-54" HC RC (Serial No. MD #10543) that had a bypassed interlock of a machine guard (limit switch of the feed side lexan hood bent under the door stop). Employees were exposed to ingoing nip point and rotating part hazards, on or about April 27, 2015. b) a) Auto Line #1, Production, 1162 Keystone Boulevard, Pottsville, PA - Employees "set up" the Union Tool Corporation Hot-Melt Roller Coater Model Series #15-A-54" HC RC (Serial No. MD #10543) that had a bypassed interlock of a machine guard (limit switch of the feed side lexan hood bent under the door stop). Employees were exposed to ingoing nip point and rotating part hazards, on or about April 27, 2015. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), abatement certification and documentation is required for this violation.
