29 CFR 1926.501(b)(2)(i): Each employee who was constructing a leading edge 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:Note: If the employer could demonstrate that it was infeasible or created a greater hazard to use these systems, a fall protection plan meeting the requirements of paragraph (k) of 1926.502 should have been developed and implemented. The employer did not protect employees conducted leading edge work which involved setting of forms for a bridge deck by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system or the use of a fall protection plan which met the requirements of 1926.502(k). Employees working on the bridge were exposed to falls of approximately 15 feet 7 inches to a lower level.
