The exposure was obtained from a sample taken over 404 minutes. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled period of 76 minutes on 5/28/15. The use of hearing protection was not ensured by the employer, on or about 5/27/15.

The employer did not institute a training program and ensure employee participation in the program:  a) Burt Lumber Company, Washington, GA - An employee sorting lumber at the saw mill was exposed to noise at a time-weighted average (TWA) of 95.1, exceeding the action limit of 85 dBA. The exposure was obtained from a sample taken over 445 minutes. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled period of 35 minutes on 5/28/15. Noise training as required by the standard was not conducted for the new employees, on or about 5/27/15.  b) Burt Lumber Company, Washington, GA - An employee operating the re-saw at the saw mill was exposed to noise at a time-weighted average (TWA) of 95.2, exceeding the action limit of 85 dBA. The exposure was obtained from a sample taken over 440 minutes. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled period of 40 minutes on 5/28/15. Noise training as required by the standard was not conducted for the new employees, on or about 5/27/15.
