OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling; (a)Caleb dba Squeegee Squad at 251 East 12th Street, Denver, CO 80204: On and before June 23rd, 2015, the employer did not ensure that the extension ladders in use on site extended three feet or three rungs above the landing or had a handle or some other attachment to provide a safe transition from the ladder onto the landing. The condition exposed employees using the ladders to fall hazards of approximately 20 feet. Abatement Note: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to control this hazard is to follow ANSI 14.2-2000, American National Standard for Ladders-Portable Metal-Safety Requirements, paragraph 8.3.10, Getting on or off ladder at upper levels, states: "Ladder should extend approximately three feet above the upper access level."
