29 CFR 1926.300(b)(1): When power operated tools were designed to accommodate guards, they were not equipped with such guards when in use: Inside the project, there was no guard on a 110 VAC Delta cut off saw used to cut metal studs. The foreman said there was a guard on it at one time, but he did not know what happened to it. Employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by the abrasive cut of wheel.

Under any of the conditions described in paragraphs (f)(7)(iv)(A) through (f)(7)(iv)(C) of this section, exposed noncurrent-carrying metal parts of cord- and plug-connected equipment, such as portable hand lamps, which may become energized was not grounded: Inside the project, the metal shade on a 110 VAC temporary lamp was not grounded. The temporary lamp was clamped onto a metal mobile scaffold frame and was located about 56 inches above the floor. Employeees were exposed to the hazard of contacting electricity.
