Plumbing Shop, North Doorway: On or about 22 June 2015 and times prior thereto, the Doorway on North side of shop was blocked with equipment and supplies. This exposed employees to delays in exiting the building causing smoke inhalation and fire hazards. The National Park Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 559139, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 01 October 2012, with respect to a workplace located at the Eielson Visitor's Center.

29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4): Safeguard(s) designed to protect employees during an emergency (e.g., sprinkler systems, alarm systems, fire doors, exit lighting), were not in proper working order at all times. (a) Main Camp B&U Building, Carpenter Shop: On or about 22 June 2015 and times prior thereto, the emergency exit light on located over doorway by the chop saw table was inoperative. This exposed employees to delays in exiting the building causing smoke inhalation and fire hazards. (b) Main Camp B&U Building, Garage Bay: On or about 22 June 2015 and times prior thereto, two Fire Doors, identified labeled "Fire Door Keep Closed" were propped open. This exposed employees to delays in exiting the building causing smoke inhalation and fire hazards. The National Park Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 559139, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 01 October 2012, with respect to a workplace located at the Eielson Visitor's Center.

(b) Plumbing Shop: On or about 22 June 2015 and times prior thereto, No MSDS were available on SLX Denatured Alcohol. This condition exposed employees to contact with toxic, caustic or noxious substances. (c) Plumbing Shop: On or about 22 June 2015 and times prior thereto, No MSDS were available on Kleen Strip Paint Thinner. This condition exposed employees to contact with toxic, caustic or noxious substances. 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(5): The employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged, or marked with the identity and appropriate hazard warnings regarding the chemicals contained therein. Steam Plant, Work bench area: On or about 25 June 2015 and times prior thereto, Two (2) 20 ounce spray bottles had unattended plastic bottle; containing an unknown chemical substance was not marked identifying the product and the hazard warnings associated with it. This condition exposed employees to chemical burns, poisoning, and skin dermatitis.
