29 CFR 1926.502(h)(1)(ii): CFR 1926.502(h)(1)(ii) The safety monitor did not warn employees when it appeared the employee was unaware of a fall hazard or was acting in an unsafe manner: (a) On or about July 10, 2015, Calvin Turner Roofing, LLC., did not ensure that the safety monitor warned employees when acting in an unsafe manner. Employees were leaning over the edge of a roof, using a rope to lower materials to the ground while conducting commercial roofing activities. Employees were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 20 feet. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").

29 CFR 1926.502(h)(1)(v): The safety monitor had other responsibilities which could take the monitor's attention from the monitoring function: (a) On or about July 10, 2015, Calvin Turner Roofing, LLC., did not ensure that the safety monitor did not have other responsibilities which could take the monitor's attention from the monitoring function. The safety monitor was observed performing roofing tasks, which took his attention away from the monitoring function. Employees were exposed to falls of approximately 20 feet, while conducting commercial roofing activities. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
