29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. On or before July 18, 2015, during the cleaning of the Cashin Bacon Slicer blade on line number 13 located in the EZ Pan department at 1888 Southway St., Massillon, Ohio 44646, employees were exposed to a cut hazards and were not provided the correct personal protective equipment(gloves) to protect them while rotating the blade manually to clean it and the area directly behind the blade.
