On or about 07/23/15, at the warehouse area, at Cost-U-Less, St. Thomas, VI. An emergency eye wash station was not provided in the immediate area when employees used and/or handled corrosive products such as Deka batteries (sulfuric acid) when checking water levels and/or replacing them during Crown lift truck maintenance operations. A Sperian emergency eye wash station located in the warehouse area was obstructed with boxes and a grocery cart and the cartridges had expired on 5/2014. NOTE: Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
