29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) James Abbott, Inc: Employees operating the RiteSpeed Hammond Machinery Builders Buffer operating at approximately 2700 rpm were exposed to rotating parts in that the rotating shaft approximately 8 inches from the employees' hand was not guarded thus exposing employees to moving parts. Observed on or about August 20, 2015.

29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: James Abbott, Inc: Employees (Platers) while plating metal materials and maintaining the plating tanks, were exposed to corrosive materials such as, but not limited to, sulfuric acid contained in CuChem ACD 725 Brightener and CuChem ACD 727 Low Brightener with pH less than 2.0. Observed on or about August 10, 2015. James Abbott, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29CFR1910.151(c) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 42661, citation number 2, item number b, and was affirmed as a final order on 8/22/2012, with respect to a workplace located at 2105 E. Wishart Street, Philadelphia, PA 19134.
