29 CFR 1910.178(l)(3): Training program content. Powered industrial truck operators shall receive initial training in the following topics, except in topics which the employer can demonstrate are not applicable to safe operation of the truck in the employer's workplace. 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(3)(i)(M): Any other operating instructions, warnings, or precautions listed in the operator's manual for the types of vehicle that the employee is being trained to operate. a. The employer did not include warnings, such as but not limited to, "Not to be used for pushing applications", from the Nissan forklift operator's manual as part of the initial training program. At the site, employees regularly pushed forklifts with other forklifts when they ran out of fuel.
