Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees where employees were exposed to burn hazards: (a) On or about August 1, 2015 and at times prior, for employees of Baker Boy Bake Shop, Inc. exposed to burn hazards from hot water in excess of 168 degrees Fahrenheit where piping used to transport the water to the Spiral 4 Freezer Belt for the purpose of washing was not labeled, on the C Side of Baker Boy facility located at 170 GTA Drive in Dickinson, North Dakota. Abatement Note: Among other methods, one feasible & acceptable method to correct the violation would be to implement ASME A13.1-2007 "Scheme for the Identification of Piping Systems". The standard recommends that piping that carries water be labeled. In this instance the piping could have been labeled hot water to indicate the danger regarding its release.
