29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: A.) Clarion Laminates, LLC, 301 Fiberboard Road, Shippenville, PA 16254, maintenance shop area, on or about August 24, 2015 and times prior thereto: Employees utilize a Wilton horizontal band saw (M/N: 7040, S/N: 07030246) to cut various types of metal stock including, but not limited to, 6-inch by 6-inch post, 3-inch by 6-inch angle iron, and 2-inch by 2-inch square stock. A guard was not affixed to the machine to protect the employees for the unused portion of the saw blade and the nip points associated with the saw blade/blade guide wheels.
