29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):  One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc.    a) On or about August 6, 2015 or prior thereto, in the manufacturing area:  A cover was not present on the Clipper Foot Pedal for the Precision Products Company 480V Chop Saw, Model 18MLH, Serial #746.  The lack of a foot pedal increased the potential for inadvertent activation of the chop saw.    b) On or about August 6, 2015 or prior thereto, in the manufacturing area:  Guarding was insufficient to prevent the operators' hands from being exposed to the blade on the Precision Products Company Chop Saw.  The overhead guard was not adjusted to the height of material being cut by the chop saw; the distance from the lower edge of the overhead chop saw guard to sections of wood being cut was measured at up to 4 inches.    NOTE: Abatement certification AND documentation are required for this item.
