29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: (a) Entire facility: Employees were not required to wear cut resistant and puncture resistant gloves while conducting search operations of inmates and prisoner living areas with their hands where the employees can experience cuts and puncture wounds from potentially blood contaminated hidden sharps, such as razor blades and tattoo needles, as determined on September 2, 2015. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
