29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On September 3, 2015 employees were not protected from a fall while walking/ working from an elevated work platform with unprotected sides and edges, exposing employees to a fall hazard of 15.4 feet. Material Handling Systems, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 967995, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on August 26, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 6000 Riverside Drive Keasbey, NJ 08832. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
