On or about 10/06/15, at the Nutrition/Food Service (Patient Kitchen Area), at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, San Juan, PR. The employer did not implement their written hazard communication program to ensure safety data sheets availability for corrosive products such as Clean Force General Purpose Cleaner/Degreaser (sodium hydroxide) used and/or handled by employees during floors and cookware cleaning operations. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer within 24 hours of the inspection.
