On Roof of the Facility - On or about October 1, 2015, an employee was provided with personal protective equipment such as nitrile gloves and safety goggles while working with products containing methylene chloride (CH2Cl2) and the employer had not certified that a workplace assessment on personal protective equipment was performed.

Each employer whose employees are exposed to MC shall perform initial exposure monitoring to determine each affected employee's exposure, except under the following conditions: a. On The Roof of the Building - On or about October 1, 2015, an employee worked with a product containing a hazardous chemical containing methylene chloride (CH2CL2) and the employer had not made an initial determination on employee exposure, thereby, employee(s) were potentially exposed to skin and eye irritations or skin burns.

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(8): The employer shall maintain in the workplace copies of the required safety data sheets for each hazardous chemical, and shall ensure that they are readily accessible during each work shift to employees when they are in their work area(s). (Electronic access and other alternatives to maintaining paper copies of the safety data sheets are permitted as long as no barriers to immediate employee access in each workplace are created by such options.) a. Production Area - On or about October 1, 2015, an employee was required to work with hazardous chemicals containing methylene chloride (CH2CL2) and the employer did not have the safety data sheet upon request. The employee was thereby exposed to the hazards of organic solvents.
