29 CFR 1926.404(b)(1)(iii)(C): The employer did not ensure that each cord set, attachment cap, plug and receptacle of cord sets, and any equipment connected by cord and plug, except cord sets and receptacles which are fixed and not exposed to damage, were visually inspected before each day's use for external defects, such as deformed or missing pins or insulation damage, and for indications of possible internal damage: APARTMENT COMPLEX: Room 106, on or about October 1 2015, and at times prior thereto, employees were exposed to electrical shock hazards (120 volt/20 amperes) while painting around a receptacle with a shop light that the plug was cut off and the exposed wires were directly inserted into the receptacle.
