The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefor, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle.  a. At the workplace, the operation of cutting small wood pieces for basket weaving using a radial arm saw required the operator's hand to be in the danger zone while securing the wood pieces by hand, thereby exposing employees to an amputation hazard.  On or about October 10, 2015, an employee suffered an amputation while performing the operation of cutting small wood pieces for basket weaving using a radial arm saw.
