29 CFR 1926.501(a)(2): The employer did not determine if the working/walking surfaces on which its employees were to work had the strength and structural integrity to support the employees safely: (a) ESBENSHADE FARMS,NEW EGG PRODUCTION FACILITY CONSTRUCTION AREA - On or about October 1, 2015, the employer permitted employees to utilize the elevated metal grating walkways on both the north and south side of Egg House 3 without ensuring the grating panels were secured to prevent shifting or collapse thereby exposing employees to fall hazards of 10 feet. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
