29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1)(vi): The written program did not contain procedures to ensure adequate air quality, quantity, and flow of breathing air for atmosphere-supplying respirators.   On or about October 26, 2016: The employees working in the abrasive blasting booth are exposed to respiratory hazards.  The employees are required to wear a Nova 2000 Abrasive Blasting Helmet with supplied air when blasting stainless steel parts.  The employer did not have written procedures in place to ensure the air quality of the supplied breathing air.

29 CFR 1910.134(c)(2)(ii): The employer did not establish and implement those elements of a written program necessary to ensure that any employee using a respirator voluntarily was medically able to use that respirator, and that the respirator was cleaned, stored, and maintained so that its use does not present a health hazard to the user.    On or about October 26, 2016: The employee working in the electro-polishing area and wearing a Scott half face elastomeric respirator voluntarily did not have a medical evaluation prior to the use of that respirator.

On or about October 26, 2016: The employer located at 1024 Airport Parkway in Gainesville, Georgia has a written respiratory protection program, however the employer did not have a qualified program administrator to oversee the program in that the program does not meet all requirements.

29 CFR 1910.141(a)(3)(i): Places of employment were not kept clean to the extent that the nature of the work allowed.     On December 17, 2015:  Production employees working at Marel Stork Poultry Processing, Inc. are exposed to ingestion and skin and eye contact hazards from chemicals associated with welding, sanding and grinding on stainless steel food processing equipment.  Surface wipe samples were collected in the production areas below.   a)  Employees utilizing the production computer workstation in the mill area are exposed to unsanitary conditions as the keyboard of the computer showed 91.62 micrograms of manganese,  4605.40 micrograms of Iron oxide, 709.43 micrograms of chromium, 307.48 micrograms of Nickel, 337.29 micrograms of zinc oxide, and 58.12 micrograms of copper fume on a wipe sample.       b)  Employees utilizing the production computer workstation in the sheet metal welding area are exposed to unsanitary conditions as the keyboard of the computer showed 182.67 micrograms of manganese,  123.60 micrograms of Iron oxide, 1610.10 micrograms of chromium, 723.35 micrograms of Nickel, 9717.40 micrograms of zinc oxide, and 104.32 micrograms of copper fume on a wipe sample.      c)  Employees utilizing the production computer workstation in the blasting area are exposed to unsanitary conditions as the top of the computer workstation showed 11.07 micrograms of manganese,  568.10 micrograms of Iron oxide, 709.43 micrograms of chromium, 98.46 micrograms of chromium, and 15.10 micrograms of copper fume on a wipe sample.

Surface wipe samples were collected in the facility break-room where employees consume food and beverage.  a)  Employees utilizing the facility break-room are exposed to unsanitary conditions as the windowsill next to an eating table showed 273.41 micrograms of iron oxide and 33.38 micrograms of chromium on a wipe sample.  b)  Employees utilizing the facility break-room are exposed to unsanitary conditions as the top of the top right microwave showed 235.06 micrograms of iron oxide and 32.59 micrograms of chromium on a wipe sample.

On or about October 26, 2015: Employees utilizing the wash booth to clean parts are exposed to corrosive chemicals such as, but not limited to Zep Morado Super Cleaner, which contains sulfonic acids and sodium hydroxide and is used during the power wash process.
