Location: 615 Pavonia Ave., Jersey City, NJ. a) Employer did not provide a stairrail system for a stairway used by employees to access their work area at the site; on or about 10/29/15.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. Location: 615 Pavonia Ave., Jersey City, NJ. a) Employees walked and/or worked near unprotected edges at the construction site. The opening was at the base of the Tower Crane and its perimeter did not have a guardrail system, thereby, exposing employees to fall hazards of greater than 6ft. to the floor below; on or about 10/29/15. Ajd Construction Co., Inc was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314950197, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 3/24/11, with respect to a workplace located at 300 Sommerset St., Harrison, NJ.
