This condition exposed employees to projectile and struck-by hazards, and resulted in the hospitalization of an employee while he was inflating a tire on a road grader.

29 CFR 1910.177(d)(4): The employer did not furnish and assure that employees use an air line assembly which includes a clip-on chuck, an inline valve with a pressure gauge or a presettable regulator, and a sufficient length of hose between the clip-on chuck and the in-line valve: a) Native Excavating, Inc. at 1878 13th St., Steamboat Springs, CO 80447: On or before October 27th, 2015, the employer failed to furnish and assure that employees who were inflating tires on multi-piece wheels used an appropriate air line assembly. The assembly lacked a pressure gauge or presettable regulator, as well as a sufficient length of hose between the clip on chuck and the in-line valve. This condition exposed employees to projectile and struck-by hazards, and resulted in the hospitalization of an employee while he was inflating a tire on a road grader.
