29 CFR 1910.119(j)(6)(iii): The employer did not assure that maintenance materials, spare parts and equipment are suitable for the process application for which they will be used.     a) The employer failed to ensure that the piping on the intercooler tank was sufficient in size for the ammonia operating system. The employer was utilizing an approximately 3/4 inch diameter; 4 inch threaded schedule 80 pipe nipple that was connected to the intercooler tank in the lower engine room. The attached pipe was not of sufficient size for the production being generated and was not structurally sound for being used in the ammonia operating system.  Employees were exposed to an inhalation hazard from an exposure to ammonia.
