29 CFR 1910.1027(k)(1): Surfaces were not maintained as free as practicable of accumulations of cadmium: (a) The employer is failing to protect employees from toxic substance hazards associated with surface accumulations of cadmium. This was most recently documented on or about January 11, 2016. Surfaces with accumulations of cadmium were found in the following instances: (1) A 100 square centimeter wipe sample was taken on the control panel of Slitter #1. Cadmium was present at 3.27 micrograms. (2) A 100 square centimeter wipe sample was taken on the control panel of Slitter #3. Cadmium was present at 7.76 micrograms.

29 CFR 1910.1027(m)(4)(i): The employer did not institute a training program for all employees who were potentially exposed to cadmium, ensure employee participation in the program, and maintain a record of the contents of such program: (a)The employer is failing to protect employees from toxic cadmium hazards by instituting a training program for all employees who are potentially exposed to cadmium. This was most recently documented on or about January 11, 2016 when the employer failed to demonstrate that employees exposed to the following areas of the facility had been provided with training on the hazards of cadmium: (1) A 100 square centimeter wipe sample was taken on the control panel of Slitter #1. Cadmium was present at 3.27 micrograms. (2) A 100 square centimeter wipe sample was taken on the control panel of Slitter #3. Cadmium was present at 7.76 micrograms.
