1910.305 G02 III

Deleted Serious Gravity 1 2 instances 10 exposed
Issued
Mar 21, 2016
Penalty
Initial $2,295 · Current $0 Reduced
29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords and cables were not connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief was provided that would prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws (a) The electrical plug on a plastic wrap machine near the back end of the flat irons was not equipped with tension relief on the cord. The insulating jacket of the cord was pulled away from the plug exposing the three electrical wires (hot, neutral and ground). This increases the possibility of shock or fire. (b) An electrical plug on the fan near the flat iron department was not equipped with strain relief on the cord. The outer insulating jacket of the power cord was damaged by a tear. Further strain on the wire would lengthen the tear exposing the inner three wires to possible damage and increase the possibility of shock or fire.
