29 CFR 1910.217(b)(8)(iii): All mechanical power press controls shall incorporate a type of drive motor starter that will disconnect the drive motor from the power source in event of control voltage or power source failure, and require operation of the motor start button to restart the motor when voltage conditions are restored to normal.  a) Mechanical Power Press; On or about January 21, 2016 and at times prior thereto the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards in that an employee was operating a mechanical power press that had the drive motor wired directly through a switch and not a drive motor starter that would disconnect the drive motor in the event of power source failure.
