OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees are exposed to struck by hazards or other serious injuries while performing coupling operations of assigned semi-trucks and trailers: The employer is failing to prevent employee exposure to struck-by hazards. On January 16, 2016 and dates prior, employees engaged in performing coupling operations of trucks and trailers are exposed to a struck by hazard when employees omit securing the vehicle against movement before exiting the vehicle to complete the coupling process. An employee suffered fatal injuries when, in the process of coupling his truck and trailer, his truck and trailer rolled backward and pinned him between his trailer and an adjacent trailer.
