One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices,electronic safety devices, etc.: On 02/03/2016, employees from ConAgra Foods, located at 8064 Chivvis, St. Louis, MO, were exposed to hazards such as those created by rotating parts. The non-working portions of the Wilton horizontal band saw blade (Co. No. 47) was not properly guarded.

29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords and cables shall be connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief is provided that will prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws: On 02/03/2016, employees from ConAgra Foods, located at 8064 Chivvis, St. Louis, MO, were exposed to an electrical hazard. The flexible cord to the Wilton horizontal band saw (Co. No. 47) was pulled out of the strain relief portion of the plug.
