29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures shall be developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees are engaged in the activities covered by this section: On or about 10/20/2015, a mechanic working for Acres Metal Recycling, 5316 Hunning Rd., High Ridge, MO, had received an electrical shock from the Champion air compressor. Acres Metal Recycling did not have any written procedures in their Energy Control Program on how to isolate the energy sources related to their equipment before working on the equipment.

The mechanic received an electrical shock while working on the Champion air compressor.

Within twenty-four (24) hours after the in-patient hospitalization of one or more employees or an employee's amputation or an employee's loss of an eye, as a result of a work-related incident, you must report the in-patient hospitalization, amputation, or loss of an eye to OSHA: On or about 10/20/2015, a mechanic working for Acres Metal Recycling, 5316 Hunning Rd., High Ridge, MO, received an electric shock and was hospitalized over the incident. Acres Metal Recycling never reported the incident to OSHA.
