29 CFR 1926.451(c)(2): Supported scaffold poles, legs, posts, frames, or uprights did not bear on base plates, mud sills or other adequate firm foundation: On or about March 16, 2016 while installing plastering materials on a existing retail store, the employer failed to protect employees from a fall of approximately 14 feet. The employees were working from a supported scaffold that the legs did not have an adequate foundation on several of the legs on the north side of the building. The legs were set directly on the soft dirt with no mud sills.

Crossbraces were used as a means of access. On or about March 16, 2016 while installing plastering materials on a existing retail store, the employer failed to protect employees from a fall of approximately 14 feet. The employees were working from a supported scaffold without any safe access point. The employees were using frame rails to access the scaffold.
