Lima, OH, 45804: On or about February 21, 2016, the employer did not determine if employees conducting demolition work, in building 351, were exposed to cadmium. Not making the determination exposes employees to cadmium exposure hazards, such as but not limited to, pulmonary edema, dyspnea, nausea, vomiting and lung cancer.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: a) General Dynamics Land Systems 1161 Buckeye Rd. Lima, OH, 45804: On or about February 21, 2016, the employer did not provide training on hazardous chemicals in the work area such as lead. Employees conducting demolition work, in building 351, were exposed to lead dust. Not training employees on the hazardous of lead increases the probability that employee exposure to lead will lead to adverse health affect such as, but not limited to, kidney disease, nausea, and or brain damage. b) General Dynamics Land Systems 1161 Buckeye Rd. Lima, OH, 45804: On or about February 21, 2016, the employer did not provide training on hazardous chemicals in the work area such as arsenic. Employees conducting demolition work, in building 351, were exposed to arsenic dust. Not training employees on the hazardous of arsenic increases the probability that employee exposure to arsenic will lead to adverse health affect such as, but not limited to, kidney damage, liver damage and or reproductive effects.
