29 CFR 1910.213(s)(9): Push sticks or push blocks shall be provided at the work place in the several sizes and types suitable for the work to be done. On or about 3/24/16, the employer failed to ensure that the up-cut saw, at the end of the CTL Line, was guarded by an automatically closing hood. The hood and blade are actuated by a foot pedal that was three feet below the point of operation, mounted on the floor. The saw was actuated by the operator while his finger was in the area of the blade. He received an amputation of the right ring finger tip.
