29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): On or about March 23, 2016, at the above addressed jobsite, employees were installing roof trusses and/or roof sheathing without the use of conventional fall protection, or without the use of an adequate fall protection plan; therefore exposing the employees to a fall hazard. To abate this hazard Fast Carpentry, Inc. must provide conventional fall protection to employees engaged in residential roofing/construction and exposed to a fall hazard of six feet or more while conducting residential roofing/construction. Date by which violation must be abated: Immediately upon receipt of the Citation and Notification of Penalty. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, Fast Carpentry, Inc. must submit documents describing the measures it is taking to ensure compliance with fall protection to eliminate employee exposure to hazardous condition.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: On or about March 23, 2016, at the above addressed jobsite, employees were installing roof trusses and/or roof sheathing for which the employer had not provided the employees with fall hazard recognition/prevention training, so as to enable the employees to recognize, minimize, and prevent these hazards, therefore exposing the employees to fall hazards. FIRST REPEAT: Fast Carpentry, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1), or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 836263, citation number 01, item number 001, with respect to a workplace located at 12550 W. Sunrise Boulevard Sunrise Florida, and was affirmed as a final order on 03/25/2013. To abate this hazard Fast Carpentry, Inc. must provide fall hazard recognition and prevention training to employees engaged in residential roofing/construction and exposed to a fall hazard of six feet or more while conducting residential roofing/construction. Date by which violation must be abated: Immediately upon receipt of the Citation and Notification of Penalty.
