29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by rotating parts: On or about 04/15/2016, at Central Bag Company, located at 4901 S. 4th Street in Leavenworth, Kansas, the employer fail to provide guards to protect employees from rotating parts, in that employees cleaning the resin build-up from a roller, were exposed to caught in between hazards due to no machine guarding being provided for the direct drive rollers,

29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: On or about 4/15/2016 employee engaged in grinding activities at the power Kraft grinder in the maintenance shop were exposed to struck-by hazards in that distance between the abrasive wheel and the tongue guard was found to exceed one fourth of an inch. In that employer is failing to protect employees from hazards and unsafe conditions applicable to their work environment.
