29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  (a) Small Arms Repair Shop, Building 6520, employees were exposed to caught in hazards while working on the Jet LIN W51499 12-Inch Bench Drill Press with an unguarded chuck.  (b) Welding Bay, Building 6520, employees were exposed to caught in hazards while working on the Jet 12-Inch Bench Drill Press with an unguarded chuck.  (c) Welding Bay, Building 6520, employees were exposed to caught in hazards while working on the Acer Dynamic 1740G 17 Inch High Speed Engine Lathe with an unguarded chuck.

29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. and then only with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment:    (a) Small Arms Repair Shop, Building 6520, employees were exposed to flying parts and pieces and air embolisms while using air nozzles with approximately 88 p.s.i. of unregulated air at the nozzle.  (b) Welding Bay, Building 6520, employees were exposed to flying parts and pieces and air embolisms while using air nozzles with approximately 48 p.s.i. of unregulated air at the nozzle.

29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords and cables were not connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief was provided that would prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws:  (a) Office 108B, Building 6520, employees are exposed to electric shock/fire by using a Relocatable Power Tap with a 120 volt flexible power cord with the outer sheath pulled away from the cord attachment.  THE NEVADA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD, AVIONICS DIVISION WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD, WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 929988, CITATION 01, ITEM NUMBER 007 AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON OCTOBER 23, 2013, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 20000 ARMY AVIATION DRIVE, RENO, NEVADA 89506.
