29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section: a. On or about May 13, 2016, at the above addressed jobsite - employees were performing sewer installation in a trench measured at seven (7) feet six (6) inches in depth, ten (10) feet one (1) inch in width and twenty one (21) feet in length that was not provided with cave in protection, thereby exposing employees to cave in hazards.
