29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4): Safeguard(s) designed to protect employees during an emergency (e.g., sprinkler systems, alarm systems, fire doors, exit lighting), were not in proper working order at all times.  Meeting room; on or about 12 May 2016 and times prior; the employer did not ensure that emergency exits lights were in proper working order. The emergency exit lights in the meeting room were inoperative. This condition exposed employees to delays in exiting the building causing smoke inhalation and fire hazards.  The Army Air Force Exchanges Services was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 902132, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 21 May 2013, with respect to a workplace located at the JBER, AK Auto Care Center.

29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use.  Tool cage area; on or about 12 May 2016 and times prior thereto; a Fend-all emergency eyewash station was not inspected and maintained in accordance to manufacturers requirements for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes. Eye wash station had crystals on the protective caps. Eyewash station had a metal banding dispenser stored in front of the eyewash station impeding immediate access. This condition exposed employees to eye trauma hazards.  The Army Air Force Exchanges Services was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.151(c), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 826561, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 26 February 2013, with respect to a workplace located at the Eielson Air Force Exchange Services Auto Care Center.
