The exit door was blocked inside and outside with sand bags piled along the base. During a fire or other emergency, workers would not be able to utilize the exit door. Violation occurred on or about 2/23/16.

29 CFR 1910.37(b)(4): Signs were not posted along the exit access indicating the direction of travel to the nearest exit and exit discharge when the direction of travel to the exit or exit discharge was not immediately apparent: a) Warehouse exit toward East 2nd St. There was no directional exit sign to indicate that the East 2nd Street exit could be reached by walking along a ramp by the wall. During a fire or other emergency, workers would not be able to find the nearest exit door. Violation occurred on or about 2/23/16.
