29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): (a) On or about June 28, 2016, worksite 18505 E 163 rd, St , Lake Winnebago, Missouri.-employees in the maintenance department were exposed to prolonged chemical contact while cleaning parts due to the lack of protective equipment when handling chemicals , such as, but not limited to Safety-Kleen Premium Solvent. Employees were not given personal protection as per MSDS, they were handling solvent without use of required skin, face or splash protection. Abatement certification is required for this item; use the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET for this purpose.
