The Marshals Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1003345, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on January 26, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at Yakima, WA.  The Marshals Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 998138, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on January 9, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at Seattle, WA.

29 CFR 1910.1025(h)(1): All surfaces were not maintained as free as practicable of accumulations of lead:  a)  Gun Cleaning Area in Garage;  There was surface lead contamination on the tool box top on which guns were cleaned.    *Please note that surfaces (other than glass) are porous and gritty scrubbing cleaners (examples are Soft Scrub, Comet or Ajax) are sometimes needed to fully decontaminate the area from surface lead contamination.   The Marshals Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1003345, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on January 26, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at Yakima, WA. 29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling:  (a)  Communication Closet;  A power surge was plugged into another power surge (relocatable power tap). The UL listing states that relocatable power taps are designed to be plugged into an outlet, and not daisy chained and plugged into other relocatable power taps or extension cords.  This exposes employees to possible electrical fire hazards.    The Marshals Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1047765, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on May 22, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at Vancouver, WA.
