29 CFR 1926.754(a): Structural stability shall be maintained at all times during the erection process. a.On July 7, 2016, located at the Columbus Convention Center site where steel erection associated activities were being performed Columbus Steel Erectors failed to ensure structural stability was being maintained at all times during the steel erection process in that the structural steel truss load was erection bolted to the column, unhooked from the crane and without support of the crane or adequate temporary support, column base anchor bolts loosened for column supporting a roof truss and column plumbing process performed by applied by manual wedge and shim(s) sledge driven force applied at the same column base causing overloading of truss / column structural stability at the column base anchor bolts. Employees were exposed to structural steel collapse struck by hazards.

29 CFR 1926.755(a)(3): Columns shall be set on level finished floors, pre-grouted leveling plates, leveling nuts, or shim packs which are adequate to transfer the construction loads. a. On July 7, 2016 at the Columbus Convention Center site where steel erection associated activities were being performed Columbus Steel Erectors failed to ensure structural steel columns were set on surfaces adequate to transfer the applied construction loads in that the structural steel truss load was erection bolted to the column which was not grouted at the column base plate, unhooked from the crane and without crane support or adequate temporary column support, loosened for column supporting a roof truss and column plumbing process performed by applied construction loading of manual wedge and shim(s) sledge driven force applied at the same column base causing overloading at the column base anchor bolts exposing associated employees to structural steel collapse struck by hazards.

29 CFR 1926.755(a)(4): All columns shall be evaluated by a competent person to determine whether guying or bracing is needed; if guying or bracing is needed, it shall be installed. a. On July 7, 2016 at the Columbus Convention Center site where steel erection associated activities were being performed employees were exposed to structural steel collapse/struck by hazards in that, the employer did not ensure a qualified competent person evaluated all columns to determine whether guying or bracing was needed and if necessary that guying or bracing was installed. An evaluation of the needed adequately designed temporary support guying or bracing during column plumbing adjustments to the column carrying a structural steel roof truss to ensure the steel would remain stable once the load was disconnected from the crane and when anchor bolts were loosened to plum and align the column.

On July 7, 2016 at the Columbus Convention Center site where steel erection associated activities were being performed Columbus Steel Erectors failed to ensure the structural steel truss / joist girder was connected to the roof sheet loading was erection bolted to the structural steel column without the support structure being stabilized in that, columns were not set on surfaces adequate to transfer loads of the structural steel truss erection bolted to the column which was not grouted at the column base plate, unhooked from the crane and without crane support or adequate temporary column support, and column plumbing process performed by applied loading of manual wedge and shim(s) sledge driven force applied at the same column base causing the truss / joist girder support structure to be unstable by overloading at the column base anchor bolts and exposing associated employees to structural steel collapse struck by hazards. was
