29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Maintenance, on or about 7/20/16: 5 speed drill press was not equipped with a guard to cover the serrated chuck and cutting tool. b) Maintenance, on or about 7/20/16: Milwaukee magnetic drill was not equipped with a guard to cover the serrated chuck and cutting tool. c) Maintenance, on or about 7/20/16: Bradford lathe was not equipped with a chuck guard. d) Maintenance, on or about 7/20/16: Barnes vertical drill was not equipped with a guard to cover the serrated chuck and cutting tool. e) Sanding Area, on or about 7/20/16: Grizzly Industrial belt sander was not equipped with a guard to cover the in-running nip points where the belt and roller meet. f) Sanding Area, on or about 7/20/16: Gardner Machine Works vertical drill press was not equipped with a guard to cover the serrated chuck and cutting tool. g) Sanding Area, on or about 7/20/16: ECCO Sander machine was not equipped with guarding to cover the rotating shafts, spindle end and nut projections.
