29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about July 22, 2016, the employer did not provide adequate guarding on the P23 West #2 Discharge Shaker in the Millroom. The guard did not cover the moving chain-link conveyor belts, the ingoing nip points of the head pulley, and did not protect from hazards created by the material being transferred by an opening at the end of the guard by the door to the high frequency shaker.
